13 And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. 15 Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” 16 And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them. Mark 10:13-16 (ESV)
One of the ways we gather at Life Community is as a big extended family on Sundays. To that end, we use that time to encourage and equip the family to grow as disciples and go as missionaries during the week. This is true for not only adults, but for our children as well.
In LifeKids, we get the opportunity to serve our children in the way that Jesus did, teaching them the gospel and nurturing them in the ways of Jesus. To do this, we have numerous people who serve in many different ways so that the experience for our children is analogous to that of the adults.
Serving in LifeKids is extremely rewarding; both for the kids you serve and for the people with whom you serve. We aim to make that experience more than just a time to “volunteer;” rather, we see it as an opportunity for discipleship. In order to help in this, we are offering a LifeKids training for both people who currently serve and for those who may be interested in knowing more. Whether you have children or not, this is a great opportunity to see what goes on in LifeKids each week, whether it is in the nursery, garden, or greenhouse.
There are two options for this training from which you may choose. Each will be held at the church office (67 Federal Way in Quincy) at 12:30 PM, with lunch being served. The first one is this coming Sunday, November 1st and the second one is Sunday, November 15th. Please choose one to attend. You can click here to sign up. We look forward to this time together to train, equip, encourage, and pray together for the children we get the privilege of serving each week at Life Community!
