PREPARING FOR LCC GATHERED – WEEK OF 4.19.15

This Week’s Message

This week, we begin a new series called, “Core: The Values that Shape Our Culture.” Don’t miss out as we begin this discussion of the Core Values at Life Community: Gospel Centrality, Biblical Community, Definitive Prayer, and Radical Generosity.

For a good primer as we begin the series, take a minute to read the following from Acts, chapter 2.

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

Psalm 24:1-5

The earth is the Lord‘s and the fullness thereof,
the world and those who dwell therein,
for he has founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the rivers.

Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
And who shall stand in his holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to what is false
    and does not swear deceitfully.
He will receive blessing from the Lord
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

“the gathering is unique not as an encounter with God (since God’s presence is a constant comfort and help to the Christian); it’s unique as an encounter with God intensified among the people of God, filled with the Spirit of God, spurring one another along in the mission of God.” Mike Cosper, Rhythms of Grace
