On March 25th, a team of 8 people from Life Community will be headed to Amsterdam to spend some time with our missional partners, the O’Gradys, and the rest of the team they are a part of. Check out this blog post from Corey O’Grady….

A few years ago, I had the privilege to visit Life Community for the first time. When I left the worship gathering that Sunday, I knew that this was a group of people with whom I wanted to be connected. You see, my family and I are planting a church in the city of Amsterdam. In order to accomplish this, we need a team of partners in the US who have the same gospel centered vision for the city that we do. I quickly saw that Life Community had that type of vision. We are so grateful to be one of Life’s missional partners. Because of your love of God and the gospel, you decided that it was important for our family to live on mission in Amsterdam. You have dreamed with us in this vision of seeing the gospel change a city. You have given generously so that people here can interact with the life changing message of Jesus. You believe that being here matters.

At the end of March, a group from Life will be taking a trip to visit us here in Amsterdam. The team will have the chance to experience how we live out mission through the cafe that we own and operate (CityHouse Coffee & Books). They will interact with Not for Sale, an organization that we partner with to do justice in the area of human trafficking. The group will assist us in hosting a community Easter party, and also join us for our Sunday worship gathering. And in between all of that, we hope to help them experience Amsterdam in a way that will let them love this place like we do. We want as many people as possible to know why we have such a passion for this city. In order for that to happen, we encourage people to come here, because being here matters.

You might be thinking that all the things I’ve mentioned sound like a lot of work, and they are. You might be thinking that all of it sounds like a big investment, and you would be right. But I hope you’re also thinking that seeing God receive glory and the gospel change a city makes it all worth it. Why did we move? Why do you give? Why do we work? Why is your team coming? All of those questions have the exact same answer…

…because being here matters
