Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, “Sit here, while I go over there and pray.” And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and troubled. Then he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me.” –Matthew 26:36-38 (ESV)

Even Jesus had a few of the twelve to rely on, to share His life with. While they followed His Way, they, in turn, encouraged Him, questioned Him, protected Him, learned from Him. This picture of discipleship that was started by Jesus is what DNA Groups are all about. As we try to follow Jesus in all of life, we need a small group of people around us, people who will continually aid in preaching the gospel into all of those parts of our life.

We define DNA like this: two to four people of the same gender from the same Life Group who meet regularly to disciple one another through scripture, accountability and prayer. Want the gospel to permeate your life holistically? Desire someone to encourage and challenge and carry and push you? Want to dig a bit deeper into what Jesus modeled for us? DNA.

If you’ve been leading a DNA group, been a part of a DNA group, are interested in joining a DNA group, or maybe would just like to hear what it’s all about, come join us Saturday morning, March 14, from 9-11 AM, at the Life office. (Did I mention free coffee?) You can sign up here. Join with us in learning what it’s like to be a disciple who makes disciples as we look to Jesus as our model, follow His Way together, and listen to His Spirit in all of life.
