The Advent Offering 2012

As we approach the end of this Advent season, perhaps we should take some time to consider the generosity of God in our lives.  For most of us, we have been blessed far beyond anything we could ever have hoped for; never having to wonder where our help comes from and always trusting the promises of God who is a gracious Father and is faithful to His children.  And the confidence we have in him comes not from our great faith, but rather from his great generosity… He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?”- Rom 8:32

This is what the advent season is all about, God giving us his son, to be born in a manger, to live among us, die and be resurrected for the redemption of His people.  So in this season of giving, let us not forget that it was God who gave first.

It is with this act of grace in mind that we want to challenge everyone to give generously to the Advent offering this Christmas.  100% of the money given to the Advent Offering will be used by Life Community to help meet the needs of the poor, hungry, and displaced. Many needs will be assessed through out the year and these funds will act as a “surplus of generosity” to meet the most immediate needs at the time (ie. disaster relief, heat bills, food, clothing).  In other words, we can be a blessing to those in need by being generous toward them the way God through Jesus has been generous toward us.

If you would like to give to the Advent Offering you can do so at the Christmas Eve Service, or online by clicking here.
